Yanick and Johnny were joking about Johnny’s beard, which would be perfect to be in a stoner band. Soon enough the two of them decided to make it happen. So they each called friends from previous bands to join in. 20 minutes later Eric and JF were in, and the only missing link was a solid singer. The band jammed and wrote some tunes and put together a 4 songs demo in a month or so. They released the demo hoping it would catch the attention of a strong vocalist. They got a dozen offers from singers of various styles. But Dave was way above the others. Plus, he is a professional sound engineer, a huge advantage for a DIY band. December 2014, the band was complete. The Velvet SuperSloths spent two years composing a lot of songs, crafting their sound, and playing tons of local shows. The growing demand brought the band to release 4 singles in 2017-2018. At that time, They had no intention of releasing a full album. The 4 singles got so much good reviews that it allowed The Velvet SuperSloths to play even more shows around the Quebec Province and in Ontario. Late 2018, it became obvious that the band needed a full album, as fans were almost frustrated they couldn’t buy a physical release from the band. Since every resource needed to produce an album was already available among the band members (sound engineer, graphic designer, marketer, etc), They decided to make it a full DIY project. The album was due to be released in June 2020 and to go on tour the whole summer. Then the pandemic struck, so the band decided to take their time to put the final touches to the album, and to shoot a music video for the song Higher Fire (released November 2020). Now the groove metal self-titled album has been released January 16th 2021 on Hell on the rock Records (the band’s own label), and the band is firing on all cylinders and is fully ready to take the road as soon as possible. Since 2007, Seide has not followed any rules apart from its own. Born as a trio, a dark emanation inspired by the original Samael, the Parisian entity is evolving fast. From their first self-produced mini-album Dogma (2009), the now quartet has proven to be capable of alternating rapid tempos and discordant complaints. A singular, racy mixture of black metal 'secondwave' 90 s and doom and thrash hints with a timeless patina. This free horde became a quintet with the addition of a second guitarist sharpening its weapons on a first warrior LP, Here Is No Truth released in 2011 (Unlight - Drakkar Productions). Naar Zeroth becomes the new drummer and permanently inscribes his strength and influences.   It took six years to give birth to a second and more ambitious album Beyond The Fallacy in 2017, pushing further the stylistic forays already present in the first album. The distinguished guests bring an incredible touch: Kvarforth of Shining on vocals on the epic “Ångest”, Blasphemer of Aura Noir / ex-Mayhem on solos and Louise Leverd on cello on the haunting “Les Nuits Sans Lune” (Moonless nights). A true maestria emerges from this second effort, produced once again at the Hybreed Studio (Glorior Belli, Temple Of Baal, Arkhon Infaustus, Monolith…).   Three years later, Seide returns with Auakistla, "drought" in Náhuatl, an ancient pre-Columbian language whose culture is dear to the band. A striking third episode in its declared war against dogma. Once again a quartet, the band refocuses on the essential, digests its influences to deliver an incandescent charge. French has become the main language on this album with dark roots, a monolith of blackness bursting into the future. The texts are always chiseled and sarcastic, the riffing in the service of the subject, cursed psalm declaimed, belched or whispered by the ambivalent Count D. The first single "All About You", which will be released digitally on 26 February, shows impressively where the journey on "Spirit Of Alchemy" will go. Already today the band presents the video for the song. JOHAN KIHLBERG’S IMPERA is the brainchild of Stockholm born drummer Johan Kihlberg, who formed the band in 2011 after having worked in the music business for over 30 years, performing with members from legendary acts such as KISS, THIN LIZZY, EUROPE, RAINBOW and MÖTLEY CRUE. Every album leading up to Spirit of Alchemy has been unique in the how Kihlberg has invited his noted friends from the international rock and metal community to add their magic to the songs. This time, the stellar musicianship comes courtesy of no less than bassist John Levén (who has been with Swedish hard rock titans EUROPE since its formation) and renowned drummer Snowy Shaw (who has a history with KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE and SABATON). Since 2007, Seide has not followed any rules apart from its own. Born as a trio, a dark emanation inspired by the original Samael, the Parisian entity is evolving fast. From their first self-produced mini-album Dogma (2009), the now quartet has proven to be capable of alternating rapid tempos and discordant complaints. A singular, racy mixture of black metal 'secondwave' 90 s and doom and thrash hints with a timeless patina. This free horde became a quintet with the addition of a second guitarist sharpening its weapons on a first warrior LP, Here Is No Truth released in 2011 (Unlight - Drakkar Productions). Naar Zeroth becomes the new drummer and permanently inscribes his strength and influences.   It took six years to give birth to a second and more ambitious album Beyond The Fallacy in 2017, pushing further the stylistic forays already present in the first album. The distinguished guests bring an incredible touch: Kvarforth of Shining on vocals on the epic “Ångest”, Blasphemer of Aura Noir / ex-Mayhem on solos and Louise Leverd on cello on the haunting “Les Nuits Sans Lune” (Moonless nights). A true maestria emerges from this second effort, produced once again at the Hybreed Studio (Glorior Belli, Temple Of Baal, Arkhon Infaustus, Monolith…).   Three years later, Seide returns with Auakistla, "drought" in Náhuatl, an ancient pre-Columbian language whose culture is dear to the band. A striking third episode in its declared war against dogma. Once again a quartet, the band refocuses on the essential, digests its influences to deliver an incandescent charge. French has become the main language on this album with dark roots, a monolith of blackness bursting into the future. The texts are always chiseled and sarcastic, the riffing in the service of the subject, cursed psalm declaimed, belched or whispered by the ambivalent Count D. AGGRAVATOR - "Unseen Repulsions" (MCD/MLP) Label: Empire Records Release date: 16.04.2021 Empire Records proudly presents "Unseen Repulsions" - the new MCD/MLP of San Antonio / Texas based Thrashers AGGRAVATOR! The band was formed in 2008 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Derek Jones and drummer Mike Cortes. After playing the local circuit for a while they were joined by bassist Tristan Hernandez and lead guitarist Jesse Lopez. AGGRAVATOR released their first demo "Seven Swords" in 2010, which was followed by their full-length album "Age of Combat". On the strength of this release, AGGRAVATOR was asked to play the 2012 edition of Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway. After returning from overseas, they embarked on a three week West Coast tour, further promoting "Age of Combat". In 2013 the band began working on the second album and released their sophomore effort entitled "Populace Destructor" in the summer of 2014. The album received nothing but praise from the press and was included in several best of the year lists, including Revolver Magazine's top five releases for the month of May. AGGRAVATOR returned overseas for a Scandinavian tour which included an appearance at the well renowned Muskelrock Festival 2016 in Sweden. Upon their return to the U.S. AGGRAVATOR followed up with an appearance at Full Terror Assault II Festival 2016 in Cave In Rock, IL. Their third full-length "Sterile Existence" was released in October 2016. The metal community has taken well to the album receiving solid, credible reviews throughout the world. While in the process of recording their next album, the band was struck with the devastating news that Jesse Lopez passed away. Taking some time to gather their thoughts and recover from their loss, the band was determined to honor the last works of Jesse Lopez. AGGRAVATOR went on to release their self-titled EP in September 2019, featuring the last works of Jesse Lopez and closing the chapter of the original four piece line-up. The band also was featured on the Headbangers Metal Reunion compilation Vol 1 in 2008 with the song "Last Breath". At the year of 1990, Ricardo Santos and Dinis Costa got together and after recruiting Veríssimo Pereira and Pedro Rodrigues, they started the hostilities, with a band acclaimed by the majority of people, as the ex-libris of Azorean metal. After looking for a name to the project, they decided that it should be, Morbid Death. It was given all topics, for good and many years of Heavy Metal, such as a revolution of mentality, on the beautiful Atlantic Islands of Azores. During the next 10 years, Morbid Death had suffered mutations, with some changes of line-up, but nothing could stop the pioneers of the most alternative azorean music. With this purpose, a little was necessary to wait, that Morbid Death had achieved the status of “living legendary”, on the archipelago of Azores.Also, at that time, they were anxious to show to the rest of the world, their music. They released 2 demos, “Nomad”-1993 and “Shameless Faith”-1995. But, in 1997, they released there debut album “Echoes of Solitude”, having the particularity of being the first azorean album released professionally. It was in 1997, that the band established its line-up with Ricardo Santos (lead vocals/bass guitar), Paulo Bettencourt (guitar), Pedro Guerreiro (keyboards), Rui Frias (guitar) and Pedro Andrade (drums). In 2000, the band unifies forces with Sea Spirit Productions, with the purpose to achieve new goals. It was necessary to rejuvenate the concept and attitude of the band, reconsidering its philosophy, in order to justify the status that was earned and most of it all, to open new barriers on the upcoming years. In the beginning of 2002, the band allies with Recital Records to release “Secrets”- second album. Our initial plan was to release a 5-track EP in 2020 and so tracks 1-5 were recorded, mixed and mastered between February and June 2020. We couldn't release the EP due to the global pandemic, but it gave us time to write more songs and that's when we decided to add the new songs and make it a full-length album. Tracks 6-9 were recorded, mixed and mastered between January and February 2021. In the end, we feel all the trouble and wait has been absolutely worth it because we couldn’t be happier with the way this album turned out and we hope you guys like it as much as we do! The band also was featured on the Headbangers Metal Reunion compilation Vol 1 in 2008 with the song "Last Breath". At the year of 1990, Ricardo Santos and Dinis Costa got together and after recruiting Veríssimo Pereira and Pedro Rodrigues, they started the hostilities, with a band acclaimed by the majority of people, as the ex-libris of Azorean metal. After looking for a name to the project, they decided that it should be, Morbid Death. It was given all topics, for good and many years of Heavy Metal, such as a revolution of mentality, on the beautiful Atlantic Islands of Azores. During the next 10 years, Morbid Death had suffered mutations, with some changes of line-up, but nothing could stop the pioneers of the most alternative azorean music. With this purpose, a little was necessary to wait, that Morbid Death had achieved the status of “living legendary”, on the archipelago of Azores.Also, at that time, they were anxious to show to the rest of the world, their music. They released 2 demos, “Nomad”-1993 and “Shameless Faith”-1995. But, in 1997, they released there debut album “Echoes of Solitude”, having the particularity of being the first azorean album released professionally. It was in 1997, that the band established its line-up with Ricardo Santos (lead vocals/bass guitar), Paulo Bettencourt (guitar), Pedro Guerreiro (keyboards), Rui Frias (guitar) and Pedro Andrade (drums). In 2000, the band unifies forces with Sea Spirit Productions, with the purpose to achieve new goals. It was necessary to rejuvenate the concept and attitude of the band, reconsidering its philosophy, in order to justify the status that was earned and most of it all, to open new barriers on the upcoming years. In the beginning of 2002, the band allies with Recital Records to release “Secrets”- second album. Their debut album Oathbreaker was just released on Oct.24/20. The first single, Fates Warning, was released on Oct.17/20. All About Boneyard: Launched in 2015, Canadian hard rock/ heavy metal band Boneyard is the lifeblood and passion of vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Pamtera. The members bring a wealth of experience from previous bands that include: Tyrant, Septimus and Powerslave. The band started out as a cover project, but has been writing original music for the past three years. In May of 2019, the group entered producer/ engineer Cam Macleod's [White Wolf] Wolfs Den studio in Edmonton and began recording their debut album. After an extended COVID-19 pause, the band returned to complete the project in August of 2020.
