On the instruments the very big Otto is unleashed, which unfortunately degenerates a bit too much into Frickelkram, but otherwise rock-solid death metal. I can't complain about the vocals either. They sound really nasty and inhumane. Only here and there the Santanaesque passages do not quite pass in. Despite the very long intro, which could be more interesting for guitar professionals, I really like MORTE NEGRA, as well as the title track HORIZON. Both kick properly and have that certain something. I also like the other songs, but the two remain my favorites Conclusion: Especially for instrumentalists, the album should be worth a look. Even others who only know how to hold a guitar, like me, can have fun with it. A musical proposal of the bassist and singer Rafael Dinnamarque, shortly after leaving the band Broken Spell. In 2005, he met drummer Riccardo Linassi, co-founder of Ata D'arc. After a while, Riccardo decided to join Rafael, due to their influences and musical passions in common, with the purpose of reformulating the heavy metal presented until then. A new way of mixing traditional heavy metal with other styles was born by the hands of them both. In 2006, the band began their work live also counting with Maycon Oliveira and Regis Vital on guitars, besides Rafael and Riccardo. After a hard work the band released the EP FIGHT, with 4 tracks. It placed DINNAMARQUE in front of the scene. In 2009 the band changed formation with the entry of Ronan Oliveira and Leo Lanny on the guitars and in the same year, the EP Fight led the band to participate and win the regional selective of WOA Metal Battle, one of the events of greater national visibility. DINNAMARQUE attracted, then, the attention of the specialized media, that put the name of the group like one of the main ones of the Brazilian underground. DINNAMARQUE already had the pleasure to share the stage with big names of the heavy metal world like: Thiago Bianchi (Shaaman and Noturnall); Blaze Bayley (ex-Iron Maiden) twice; Almah; Claustrophobia, Torture Squad; Zak Stevens (Savatage and Circle II Circle), Korpiklaani and Kiko Loureiro (formerly Angra and Megadeth). DINNAMARQUE released their first full lenght album on February 8th 2020, named ‘One Spirit of a Thousand Faces’ which is already available on all main streaming services and also in CD. Inspired by old school bands such as Pantera, Metallica, Slipknot, Trivium, A.I.C., Linkin Park, Disturbed and Godsmack, Telma’s sound combines traditional vocals, heavy riffs and bass and groove-based drums. Their debut album, ‘Eternal’, follows 2 video singles, entitled ‘Perfect Storm’ and ‘Bipolar Distress’. Another self-titled video single will follow ‘Eternal’, now available, in physical and digital formats, including vinyl. Currently promoting ‘Eternal’, live gigs will happen as soon as the Covid pandemic allows. Dare – Smooth, suave riff intro, yielding to an accompanying drum section. Unusual vocal blend of grit and sensuality. Building into a heavy, grungy sound, with riffs flying off, in unexpected directions. Great rumbling bass underscoring the track. Very tasty, A.I.C.-esque style, combined with Stiltskin-esque touches. It’s strong and confident, with a definitive end. Bipolar Distress – Single, well-defined drum hit intro’s, onto a clearly accessible, impassioned vocal, surrounded by looser, but still powerful riffage. Very convincing vocals, incorporating that gorgeous acute riff section, just before the mid-section. Again, the tension’s built so naturally. Stacked with true conviction and loaded with emotion, it’s plausible, through and through, bringing the emotion down, with the drum and cymbal sections, just before the end. Perfect Storm – Shrill background riffs gradually fade in, on a building tide of percussion. The vocals roll with the sound. The rhythm’s central and there, from the start. Expressing that emotion so well. The rise and fall are so palpable. It totally embodies the title. Such well fitting vocals. It’s a sultry sound, to lose yourself in, conveying all the emotional hits and drops, with perfect precision. Great vortex fade out echo. Bleeding Reality – Opening on a growl of crunchy riffs and into a sensuous climbing vocal. Drums tumbling down and crashing into the atmosphere, with heavy, machine-like weaponry. Scrumptious bit of whammy and vibrato, from the mid-section onwards. Playing well with that effect. Echoing out, at the fade-out. Corporace – Straight there, with instant southern groove. Brilliantly exciting pace. Damn sexy vocals, rolling over, in tandem with the drums. Central bass in here, with a great high-pitched riff, at the mid-point, screaming, for all its worth. A real heavy emphatic crunch to this, speeding it up, towards the fade out cymbal hit. Eternal – Opening on shrill riff tones. Jungle drums joining in, then sliding into atmospheric reverb, before the vocals enter. Once again, they’re suave and sexy, with stacks of soul. Oh, that sudden anthemic group vocal’s just so sensual). Truly delicious. Continuing into a surprisingly Nickelback-esque refrain, just as sensuous and just as powerful. Groove is what this is all about and it screams it so well. It’s all man). Yielding into an echoic closing riff. Just heaven). Stream Of Thoughts – Instant riff crunch. A rhythmically heavy percussive sound. Vocal grit present, from the start. Great marriage here between the vocals and rhythm section. Velvet and rough, at the same time and it’s pure heaven, again). Racing on, towards the end, with gravel-laced vocals and speeding accompaniments, till the well-defined, cutting-edge end. Paradise – Tumbling melodies intro, before the groove-laden rhythm kicks in. Great, evocative lyrics. So much power. Such well perfected, vivid riffage. Like a rainbow of colourful sounds. Drums and cymbals marrying, idyllically, with that groove-soaked riffage and vocal forming the perfect match. Physically palpable drum rolls, taking it to the precision cut end. Overall – Insanely, spectacularly good, ‘Eternal’ is as sensuously metallic as it gets and that’s saying something, for a band who only formed earlier this year. This is an album stacked with groove, rhythm, sensual vocal agility and heights of astounding riff dexterity. Melodically addictive, hypnotically catchy and 100% natural, ‘Eternal’s the real deal, with mesmerising charisma, throughout. 10/10 - Jenny Tate Release Date: July 20, 2021 FFO: Lamb Of God, Metallica, Trivium Telma is a modern metal band from Greece. Today, Swedish black metal legends Ofermod stream the entirety of their highly anticipated fifth album, Mysterium Iniquitatis , at the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel . Set for international release on December 3rd via Shadow Records (distributed & marketed by Regain Records ) on CD and cassette tape formats - the vinyl LP version will be released on March 29th, 2022 - hear Ofermod ’s Mysterium Iniquitatis in its entirety exclusively HERE . By now, Ofermod should require no introduction. Formed back in the dark days of 1996, the band released their debut EP, Mystérion Tés Anomias , in 1998. Although a mere two songs, Ofermod ’s opening salvo sowed the seeds for the orthodox black metal movement that would begin to blossom in the new millennium, alongside fellow Shadow Records alumni Funeral Mist and Malign . Crime and chaos followed mainman Belfagor everywhere he went, and the band’s momentum remained halted. However, Ofermod eventually became a working entity again, starting with 2008’s Tiamtü full-length, and through magick and will did more recordings follow: Thaumiel (2012), the two-song Serpents’ Dance EP (2014), Sol Nox (2017), and the posthumous Pentagrammaton , originally intended to be the band’s debut album. Each one put forth a pivotal piece of the ever-evolving puzzle of Ofermod – ever the same, yet always different. And the puzzle continues to be eternal, no matter when or how an Ofermod recording arises. Such can be said for Mysterium Iniquitatis , which sees the original lineup joined together once again – Belfagor on guitar and vocalist Nebiros ( Malign , Mephorash ) – with session bass by Magnus “Devo” Andersson (ex- Marduk ) and session drums by Calle Larsson. Indeed, Mysterium Iniquitatis immediately reminds of that infinitely influential Mystérion Tés Anomias EP, but tempered by age, experience, and poise. At once martial and mesmerizing, fiery and furious, but executed with a crispness and finesse that’s the penultimate in professionalism, Mysterium Iniquitatis presents Ofermod at their tightest and tautest, their characteristically malefic melodicism taking on new contours when put through such a startlingly accomplished soundfield. Likewise, Nebiros’ vocals bring back the grimness of yore, straddling past, present, and future with equal aplomb; his clear enunciation truly raises the hackles. The production – courtesy of Andersson at Endarker Studios – cuts like a gleaming knife and rusty axe simultaneously, the perfect iron-fisted complement to the band’s ever-surging and ceaselessly unfolding songwriting here. Special mention must be made of the male choirs on the opening title track – courtesy of Thomas Ericksson (Year of the Goat) and Lars Broddesson (ex- Marduk ) – conveying a grandiosity beyond compare. Pioneers of a certain Anglo-Saxon heavy metal, ours (together with Vanexa, Death SS, Paul Chain, Strana Officina, Sabotage, The Raff, Crying Steel, Steel Crown, Revenge etc etc) have managed, thanks to their passion for metal and for their great love / respect for their audience that has always supported them, to carve out an international following. Such a collection, especially in a period like this, is very useful to introduce the new generations to the music of the Bolzano band. 'Greatest Hits' contains 16 tracks, including a portentous unreleased track, which are drawn from their best productions. From the debut to the lightning "Dirty Armada" the tellurics "TV Shock", " RockRock City", and "Starlight" are inserted. Three gems that, with great passion, draw the best from the greats of the English music scene: Judas Priest, Saxon in the first place. "Rock Rock City" is a song that will give emotions to those who have discovered only in recent years, for personal reasons, legendary bands such as Riot and Accept. From the fundamental "Pictures of War" are fished, along with the song of the same name, " Turn itLouder Now" and "Wild". The latter is a wonderful song that, in addition to recalling the Scorpions of the most melodic period, can be very incisive and exciting. Beautiful melodies from the leader / vocalist Claudio Pisoni and beautiful guitar solos that are very reminiscent of those of the great Rudolf Schenker. From the third album we find the full-bodied "Undertaker" and "Metal Party". Electric songs very inspired by the best hard rock of the eighties. The beautiful "Flagellum Dei" will make the happiness, not only of those who have now approached the historic Italian band, but to all fans of the best metal. Vitriolic riffs and catchy melodies/choruses are the secrets to composing a classy piece. The very technical guitar solos are inserted at the right time creating moments of great musical tension. Exceptional composition! From the excellent "The Serial Healer" and the magnificent "Factory of Steel" are included fantastic songs such as: " SoulFinder", "Welcome to Hell". What power!!! Magnificent sound that owes a lot to the great Accept and the great German bands of the time, "Factory of Steel", " Hard andPure" are of a crazy electricity! The unreleased "Under the Grave" seems a classic of the great Judas Priest; in fact you can feel the influence of the English band. The riffs are as successful as the vocal lines that remain in the head with great pleasure. The rhythm section, as per the band's tradition, is precise and powerful. Great song that makes us jump on the chair. The band was inspired by the band Nirvana and the guys were spending whole days playing Nirvana songs. The band rehearsed a lot and took part at most of the local music fest and played many shows in the capital of the country, Chisinau. The first period of the band finished after graduating from the lycee by three members of the band. A little pause was crucial in defying the future music direction of the band influenced by such bands as Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation, Andromeda, Rush and many other progressive monsters. So, the band reopened its activity by the year 2001 in a renewed lineup. The music was more like progressive rock/metal more than a brutal one. In this period the band played many local shows. The band recorded some songs in this period and stopped again from live and rehearsal activity near the year 2006 because of lack of time and perspectives. In 2009 the virtual activity of the band was reopened and the band which consisted of only two members, the Voluta brothers. Actually, the band was Valentin's hobby during the studio years. Eugen joined the band Infected Rain in 2012 and concentrated mostly on playing and working live with the other moldavian metal band. The tour was postponed a second time after Ozzy continued to deal with health issues following a fall in his Los Angeles home. That fall "aggravated years-old injuries" from an ATV accident that occurred in 2003. The tour was pushed back a third time in October 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ozzy 's European tour with JUDAS PRIEST tour will now take place more than four years later than originally planned, and almost five years after tickets first went on sale in September 2018. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Ozzy was due to undergo a major surgery to help correct neck and spine issues following the 2019 fall. Those injuries have continued to keep the legendary heavy metal singer from returning to the stage. Less than a year after Ozzy 's fall, the family revealed publicly that the BLACK SABBATH frontman had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. In July 2020, Ozzy said that he was still "not back to 100 percent" after suffering from several medical issues last year, including the fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu. Ozzy also said that he was looking forward to performing again once he has regained his health and the coronavirus pandemic has subsided. In May 2020, Ozzy 's son Jack said that his father will "probably" retire "within the next five to ten years." But Ozzy , who will turn 73 in December, has repeatedly said that he is not calling it quits, despite the fact that his "No More Tours 2" — whenever it ends up happening — is being billed as his last major global trek. Seventh Dimension is a 5-piece progressive metal band that was formed in 2009 by founding members Luca Delle Fave (Guitars), Rikard Wallström (Bass) and Marcus Thorén (Drums) in the underground progressive scene of Stockholm, Sweden. The bands main influences are bands such as Dream Theater, Symphony X, Andromeda, Porcupine Tree, Opeth among others. While searching for the remaining band members, Luca spent a lot of time writing music that would end up on their first album, 'Circle of Life'. In 2010, the band became complete after Nico Lauritsen (Vocals) and Erik Bauer (Keyboards) joined the band. In 2011, the band debuted on the live scene in Stockholm as the opening band to prog metal band Forgotten Suns from Portugal. They would later open for them again in Lisbon. In 2012, Seventh Dimension entered the studio to record their debut album. They immediately marked themselves as a story telling band with big visions by debuting with a concept album that got to see the light of day on January 15th, 2013. In promotion for the album, Seventh Dimension kept playing around the Stockholm area as well as on prog festivals. Shortly after the release of 'Circle of Life', new music was being written for the next album. The second album 'Recognition' was released on February 13th, 2015. Prog Metal Zone gave 'Recognition' a top score and included it in their list of “Best progressive rock/metal albums of 2015” while the band also started to gain fans over in Japan. Check out the video! The third album 'The Corrupted Lullaby' was released on November 1st, 2018 and was the most ambitious project Seventh Dimension had done so far. It was a concept album that as a whole displayed the bands vision of creating a story from start to finish with a fitting soundtrack to every event. The album got a great reception, landing great reviews and much attention on various websites and magazines, including bringing the band to perform as the main event on a show at Wild Side, Tokyo in September 2019. In March 2020, the band released their first ever cover song, covering Dream Theater's classic 23-minute prog epic 'A Change of Seasons' from 1995. Shortly after this, the band would start recording their fourth album which was announced by the end of the year. The entire album was recorded from separate locations due to the pandemic. Prior to the release of the new album, the band released three singles on YouTube for the songs 'Resurgence', 'Falling' and 'Black Sky: Into the Void'. In June 2021, the fourth album 'Black Sky' was released, introducing a heavier side of the band with a more compact set of punchy prog metal songs, as a contrast to the predecessor 'The Corrupted Lullaby'. The tour was postponed a second time after Ozzy continued to deal with health issues following a fall in his Los Angeles home. That fall "aggravated years-old injuries" from an ATV accident that occurred in 2003. The tour was pushed back a third time in October 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ozzy 's European tour with JUDAS PRIEST tour will now take place more than four years later than originally planned, and almost five years after tickets first went on sale in September 2018. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Ozzy was due to undergo a major surgery to help correct neck and spine issues following the 2019 fall. Those injuries have continued to keep the legendary heavy metal singer from returning to the stage. Less than a year after Ozzy 's fall, the family revealed publicly that the BLACK SABBATH frontman had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. In July 2020, Ozzy said that he was still "not back to 100 percent" after suffering from several medical issues last year, including the fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu. Ozzy also said that he was looking forward to performing again once he has regained his health and the coronavirus pandemic has subsided. In May 2020, Ozzy 's son Jack said that his father will "probably" retire "within the next five to ten years." But Ozzy , who will turn 73 in December, has repeatedly said that he is not calling it quits, despite the fact that his "No More Tours 2" — whenever it ends up happening — is being billed as his last major global trek. Tony Iommi returns with the crushing new single Scent Of Dark - @thebeast

Tony Iommi has returned with his first new music in eight years with the crushing single Scent Of Dark. The Black Sabbath guitarist has also launched an accompanying perfume under the same name in collaboration with acclaimed perfumer Sergio Momo, who also features on the track. Scent Of Dark is a deliciously-doomy trademark Tony Iommi track, featuring a menacing, Sabbath-style riff paired with cinematic, symphonic strings. Alongside the track arrives a visually spectacular video that sees the guitarist sampling the perfume inside the gothic Sudley Castle in Winchcombe, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. Iommi first established a friendship with Sergio over the pandemic, who is an accomplished guitarist as well as renowned perfumer and designer for Italia luxury perfume house Xerjoff. Although Iommi's step into the fragrance industry might take some fans by surprise, the guitarist reveals that it's actually been a life-long interest. “It’s something I’ve always been interested in, ever since the early days of products like Brut and Old Spice, which I’d always get given for Christmas,” remembers Tony. “Once I started touring the world with Sabbath though, I started discovering different sorts of fragrancies from other countries and began collecting them on tour. “I met Sergio through another friend of mine Jimmy Crutchley (who plays bass on Scent Of Dark) and Sergio kindly sent me a box of his fragrances and asked if I’d be interested in creating my own, which I certainly wasn’t expecting,” laughs Iommi. “I had no idea how that would work, but Sergio suggested I come up with a list of things I like the smell of, which I did. He developed some different samples made up from my suggestions and I picked the one I liked; the project moved forward from there.” Speaking of his friendship with the perfumer, he continues, “Sergio is a really creative chap, he plays great guitar on Scent Of Dark and has one of my collectable models, the 64 Gibson with the cartoon monkey image. He said it would be great to incorporate that, and he’s even managed to get it onto one of the bottles!” Citing how he played an integral part in creating the perfume, Iommi notes, “I wouldn’t put my name to something that I haven’t been involved in and didn’t personally like or use. That’s been the same with all of the projects I’ve done from guitars onwards, this is no different.” According to a press release, the fragrance has been comprised from "the finest materials" and "handpicked rare ingredients", all sealed within "exquisite packaging". The union between the song and product has been penned as the the world’s first "multi-sensory experience between sound, scent, and spirit". Elaborating on the creation of the track, the guitarist explains, “I’ve had the riff for Scent Of Dark for quite a while and I’d never done anything with it, but it gave us a base to start from. We built up the track with programmed drums at first and then Mike Exeter demoed bass and keyboards on it, and I added my guitar solos, just to give us an idea of how it was going to sound. Eventually Jimmy (Crutchley) added his bass. "Jimmy knew drummer Ash Sheehan and he fitted in perfectly, adding the final real drum track on top of our work. Then we added the strings. I’d worked with string sections on Sabbath albums before, but this was a whole new experience.” “It’s been a really interesting project for me that has combined many of my different interests and a direction I’m really enjoying going in,” concludes Tony. “I’ve got so many riffs; it would be great to do more instrumental and soundtrack work.” Tony Iommi Signed Crystal by Xerjoff Blends with a Limited edition of 200 flacons, will be available from November 29, 2021 in selected retails and at Xerjoff Universe.
